Lawful Intercept (CALEA)
Service Providers are also faced with
CALEA or Lawful Intercept compliance as noted in the
Second
Report and Order published in May
of 2006. Lawful Intercept is not a new subject for Service
Providers, as they have been faced with CALEA related
exercises for traditional phone surveillance for many
years. With the newly releases Second Report and Order,
service providers are tasked with having to provide
LEA (Law Enforcement Agencies) with Lawful Intercept
for broadband based services such as Email, VoIP, and
general IP access.
